Russian birch is renowned for its tight grain structure, strength and hardness. Grown in cold climates with short and cold growing seasons, birch has little insect damage and tight growth rings. Russian birch plywood is made up of many thin layers of 1-1.4mm thick birch veneers laid 90 degrees to each other to provide exceptional strength. The cost/strength ratio of Russian Birch plywood is among the highest of any raw material.
