SWVA, Inc. (doing business as Steel of West Virginia, Inc.) produces light weight I beams used as crossmembers by the truck trailer and truck body industries.
Crossmembers are the structural, load-carrying components supporting the floor of the truck body or trailer. This material must be high strength, but light weight, in order to maximize the weight and volume of the cargo being hauled. They are available in various heights and section weights. For repetitive items, these cross members can be customized to individual model specifications in terms of length, welded end clips, hole patterns, and coatings.
Standard grades are 60 KSI and 80 KSI minimum yield point; standard coatings are painted, waxed, and galvanized.
